Vista Transformation Pack will give to your Windows XP system the new and cool look of Microsoft's future operating system: Windows Vista. The pack changes most of the system icons, skins and toolbars and also adds new enhancements to your desktop such as a dock bar or a different system tray clock. It is free and does a great job of giving machine a look similar to Vista.
It does have uninstallation options in case you decide you want to get rid of it, so there really isn’t anything to lose. However, when you install the software it has to overwrite some system files (it modifies things like the boot screen) so Windows will prompt you stating that your system files have been changed. It will ask whether you want to change them back or leave them, so just leave them if you want the system to function properly.

Give your 2000/XP operating system the cool look of Microsoft Windows Vista.
Vistapack takes the file from the host, backs it up, modifies a sample and puts the modified file back in the system. This ensures that you are using the latest files so no need for alerts like "Now I am using an old file, what if it's updated by Microsoft? Then I will be open for attack...".
Nope, no need to worry. You keep the updated file.
The pack uses ResHacker to change icons, bitmaps and some dialogs, to make it look like the new Microsoft Windows Vista! It's rather safe in my opinion, but of course there are some risks when you modify system files. This is at your own risk!!! But no need to worry, there are few bugs that cause your pc not to boot or something. Personally i did not had that happening here.

With VistaMizer you can transform your Windows XP, MCE or Server 2003 into the look of Windows Vista. Therefore nearly 400 files with new Icons, pictures as well as videos are modified. This means that VistaMizer does not provide own files and change your system files.
That has the advantage that VistaMizer works with each language and no changes of the language specifics are made. The installer is so developed that you have completely the change which will be modified and which not. Even if you select files, which are possibly not at all on your system available or not compatible, the application recognizes this and jumps over these. This ensures that the system does not become unstable because of wrong modification. After updates if your system data are overwritten, then a renewal of these is possible by using an extra program that is linked by the VistaMizer.
